Standard Bank said that it is now 99% digital, with almost all of its South African transaction volumes being cashless. Standard Bank stated that the pandemic has coaxed its customers into switching to digital banking. As a result, the bank has been cutting its branches and even floor space at its offices to help cut expenses. Standard Bank aims to attract at least 10 million customers by 2025. In addition, the bank seeks to forge alliances with distribution partners and expand its product offering, as it recovers from the pandemic.
